Commissions As elsewhere explained, I am now willing to take on Commissions for paintings or sketches in a variety of mediums, be it Portraits, Landscapes, Townscapes or Figurative work similar to that shown in my Gallery section. I normally paint on sheet material, be it paper or canvas, which allows finished work to be subsequently fixed to a suitable backing and framed if required. You can receive the artwork without the backing which would allow it to be economically delivered to you in a protective cardboard tube. I can paint from good quality photographs, or from life depending on locality. If from photographs they must be originals and copyright free, submitted by email. If the photographs are for the purpose of painting a portrait they ideally should have been taken without frontal flash and not showing a full set of teeth. I am willing to take photographs for you. Please discuss. However before contacting me consider advising the following: 1.0 Your subject: Portrait(s), Landscape, Townscape or other Figurative work. 2.0 Preferred medium: Watercolour, Acrylic, Pastels or Oil paints. 3.0 Size of Painting. 4.0 Complexity of any required background to Portraits. 5.0 Your Contact Details: Name and email address, or if no email address, your address. 6.0 Timescale: any urgency ? 7.0 Preferred Method of Payment: Cleared Cheque or Direct Bank Transfer. 8.0 Acceptance of When to Pay: 8.1. Deposit when instructing work, via email or letter: 10% of estimated cost. 8.2. On approval, via email or letter, of initial sketch: 40% of estimated cost. At this stage you can request small changes. 8.3. On completion, after approval of print of final work, via email or letter: remaining 50%, which must be received before the artwork is delivered or collected. You are free to discuss your requirements with me, sending me your thoughts and any image or sketch along the line of which you would like me to proceed. However if you change your mind after work has started you can cancel at any stage. Cancellation would involve losing 40% if done after the approval of the initial sketch, 10% if done before approval of initial sketch. Also, if you don't like the print of final work, presented via email or mail, I may consider keeping it myself, relieving you of paying the final 50%.
